Who we are

Earshot is operated by Minor Gods LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States ("Minor Gods", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you use Earshot, including the Earshot apps for desktop and mobile, Earshot Cloud, our hosted services and the earshot.run website (together, the "Service").

Minor Gods LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. Such as your email address, or the basic profile information provided by a sign-in provider you choose, such as GitHub, Google or Apple.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive billing details such as your subscription status and purchase history, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Communications. Information you send when you contact us or open a support request, including any attachments. Feedback sent from the app also includes the app version, operating system version, device model and language.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information. Identifiers, names and public keys for the computers and devices you connect, and push notification tokens so that we can deliver notifications to you.
  • App integrity checks. When you sign in or pair a phone, the app uses Apple's or Google's integrity services to confirm it is a genuine copy of Earshot on a real device.
  • Sign-in information. The IP address and user agent (browser or app and device type) of each sign-in session, which we keep with your account to protect it.
  • Usage and diagnostic information. Limited information about how the Service is used and performs, such as features used, app version, platform, performance and errors. It is not linked to your account or your devices: each app reports only counts and coarse facts, like the week it was first used. It does not include the content of your work: no questions, answers, messages, file names or repositories. The Earshot apps contain no third-party analytics or advertising code; on Android, Google's Firebase is used only to deliver notifications, with its analytics turned off.
  • Website information. Basic request information when you visit earshot.run, such as the page visited, the referring website and approximate country.

Content you process through the Service

Messages exchanged between your computers and your devices are end-to-end encrypted, and we cannot read them. So your devices can read a conversation while its computer is off, your computers leave us an end-to-end encrypted copy of recent messages, which we also cannot read.

Some features need us, or a provider working for us, to read content, so that content is not end-to-end encrypted:

  • Voice. Your speech is turned into text on your device, and we never receive audio; on Android, your phone's speech recognizer may send audio to Google. With Earshot Pro, voice cleanup sends the text you dictate and related context, such as recent conversation text or a screenshot you include, to us and our AI providers. We don't store the text or the result. Your spelling terms and writing style are stored with your account so every device can use them. While voice cleanup is on, Earshot Desktop also adds names it learns on your computer from your own messages to your agents, your session and project names, and words earlier cleanups corrected; turning cleanup off removes them from your account.
  • AI features. Features such as chat names, summaries, search and automatic choices send the text they need, such as excerpts of your conversations or agent messages, to us and our AI providers. We don't keep that content once the request is done.
  • iPhone Lock Screen. While agents are running, the Lock Screen card shows session, project, agent and model names, which are readable by us and by Apple. You can turn this off in Pocket's notification settings.
  • Connections and the API. Messages with services you connect (such as Slack, Discord and GitHub), webhooks, and questions and work sent through the Earshot API pass through our service unencrypted, as do their notifications through Apple or Google.
  • Models on Earshot's OpenRouter key. When an agent uses Earshot's OpenRouter key, the content of its session that goes to the model, such as your instructions, the agent's messages and the files and tool results it includes, passes through us to OpenRouter, which sends it to the model's provider to answer. Every such request tells OpenRouter to route it only to providers that, under OpenRouter's data policies, neither train on nor retain request data; if a model has no such provider, the request fails rather than going to one that does. We keep each request's model, account and cost for billing, not its content. When you use your own subscription or key, including your own OpenRouter key, that content goes from your computer to that provider under your account with them.
  • Pages. When you or one of your agents publishes a page, we store the files in the folder it publishes and serve them to anyone with its earshot.page link, unless you set a password. A page stays up until you take it down or nobody opens it for 90 days.
  • Earshot Cloud. Cloud computers run your agents on our infrastructure, and we process that work only as needed to provide Earshot Cloud. So they can work while your other computers are off, Cloud computers can read your account's synced data, such as skills, sign-ins and messages between your agents.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate and maintain the Service, including delivering notifications and syncing your devices.
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Respond to your requests and provide support.
  • Monitor, secure and improve the Service, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Send you service-related messages, such as sign-in links, receipts and important notices.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your content to train AI models.

How we share information

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. With vendors who process information on our behalf to run the Service, such as hosting, database, email, payment, notification, app integrity, AI and search providers, including OpenRouter, which carries requests on Earshot's OpenRouter key to model providers. They may use it only to provide services to us. Contact us for a current list.
  • At your direction. When you connect a third-party service or ask us to share information with one.
  • Legal reasons. When we believe it is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Minor Gods.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Third-party services

Earshot works with coding agents and services provided by other companies, such as AI model providers, GitHub and Slack. Except for models on Earshot's OpenRouter key, described above, you use those services under your own accounts, and their handling of your information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Some information has a shorter limit:

  • End-to-end encrypted conversation copies: up to 90 days, or sooner when you remove the computer.
  • Voice spelling terms from a device: 90 days without an update.
  • Questions and answers sent through connections and the API: 30 days after they are settled.
  • Messages from a connected service: until you remove the connection.
  • Usage and diagnostic events: 400 days.

When you delete your account, your computers and devices lose access immediately, and we erase your account 30 days later; email us before then to cancel. We keep certain records, such as billing and tax records, where we must to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and end-to-end encryption of messages between your computers and devices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage connected devices and services from the app's settings. To delete your account, go to Settings → Help & about → Delete account in Pocket, or email hello@earshot.run from your account's address. To make any other request, contact us at hello@earshot.run. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

You can turn off usage reporting on computers you administer by setting EARSHOT_TELEMETRY=off or DO_NOT_TRACK=1 in Earshot's environment. Pocket has no setting for this yet; email us from your account's address and we will stop recording usage events for your account.

Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

We process personal information on the following legal bases: to perform our contract with you; for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service; to comply with legal obligations; and with your consent where required. You may withdraw consent at any time, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@earshot.run.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, for transfers of personal information.

Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
